That show I make I rarely post about (Vampire Mob) is audience-funded and our budget is staring down the barrel of zero as of Sunday. If you’d like to help us tell this story, please drop by our site and grab a shirt, coffee mug, script or other rewards that help us fund production. Thank you! http://www.VampireMob.com/

“I think that writers are made, not born or created out of dreams or childhood trauma — that becoming a writer is a direct result of conscious will. Of course there has to be some talent involved, but talent is a dreadfully cheap commodity, cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work and study; a constant process of...

On this #webtvwed / #webserieswed I’d like to remind you, and myself, have FUN!
Isn’t that why you started in the first place, because it’s fun?
Yes, it’s hard work and yes, most people making a web series aren’t getting paid a dime, including myself. So, under those conditions, fun’s…

WRITING IS ORCHESTRATED DAYDREAMING. Writing is not work, it’s daydreaming on paper. The work is actually sitting down and doing it. I’ve never been asked how to write a web series, until last week. The questions included how to structure a series, both an episode and an entire season. There’s rules in screenwriting, both for TV and...

Carl Carlton’s “She’s a Bad Mama Jamma”
I will not be traveling or seeing family for Thanksgiving because I’m on line outside Wal-Mart waiting for sales to start Friday. Believe the hype! Camping out to buy stuff IS all the fun you’ve seen on the news!
If you are currently on line outside of a store, awaiting Black Friday sales, you are an unpaid extra for retailers and the news organizations that sell advertising to those same retailers. Also, you are a jackass.

Losing the $6,212 pledged by 140 people on Kickstarter to make season two last Friday, sucked. Plain & simple.
The cool things that happened, like hundreds of people tweeting about the show, including @Nerdist and @JoeMantegna and the rush of support and RT’s in the last 24 hours was amazing! I…

Can your show be enjoyed by someone who is hearing-impaired?
I’ve done closed-captioning for Vampire Mob and currently there’s one free way to do it, YouTube. There was a blog from Jamie Berke who contacted me asking why my show didn’t have closed-captioning for the hearing impaired….
The first four episodes of Vampire Mob are now closed-captioned for the hearing impaired!
Dear @IAWTV,
Thanks for inviting the #webseries community to be a part of the International Academy of Web Television with the new membership policy. Use of the word ‘community’ is a lot more appropriate with the new policy. Congrats.

I always look at writing as orchestrated daydreaming, which is why I like to write - I like to daydream.
When I’m writing something someone else will shoot, like a feature, I never write any camera moves, both because I think it’s bad form and it kills a lot of white space. And people love white…

When you have your script done - as in written, re-written, re-written based on notes, re-written based on a table read or two - DONE! Number your days.
Look at each episode in your season, let’s say you have six of them, and figure how many days in the story are in your script. Example, in our…

Dear Jeff Zucker:
I make TV and I hear you do, too, well not actually make it, but I guess you decide what gets made? That sounds like a fun job.
In an interview I readyou were asked about NBC shows remaining online for free and said, “I do not think that it is a foregone conclusion that content should be free on the Internet.”
I think that’s a great decision for NBC Universal and the products it...

What if all of this #webseries brouhaha was about creative freedom?
I know, but still, just for a minute, plug in your suspension of disbelief card and think: What if making a webseries was only about the freedom to create something within the constraints of a budget?
That doesn’t sound as much…

Confessions of a #Webseries Creator
I was working as a private investigator when I came up with the idea for “Vampire Mob” during an investigation. Honest.
The day started with my “Guild of Calamitous Intent” shirt, then, due to cat hair, I changed into my Dr. Henry Killinger shirt, which I’m about to run the dog in, next on deck - the Monarch shirt.
I posted the new trailer announcing the season one launch & LA premiere dates.
We’re also having an online preview premiere via password.

I didn’t create a web series in hopes of getting an award, a TV deal or for a web site with money to discover my show. When it comes to web series, I’m familiar with the excitement of “What if?” and the disappointment of “Here’s why not.” The first time I worked on one was in 1999.
